Fred Kern, MD, FAAP
Dr. Kern has enjoyed serving children, parents, and families for over 25 years. He is board certified in pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Kern founded Bridgewater Pediatrics in 2000, after serving in a medical group for 13 years. His founding vision has been to provide high quality medical care in a caring and compassionate environment. His desire is for Bridgewater Pediatrics to be a comprehensive medical home for children and their families—a practice which nurtures the physical, emotional, academic, and spiritual health of all.
Dr. Kern received his medical degree from McGill University and completed his pediatric internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center. He graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in biology, cum laude. In 1998, he was awarded the Brockton Community Service Award for establishing a pediatric HIV clinic. In 2015, Dr. Kern completed a two-year course in advanced behavioral health care through the Pediatric Physicians Organization of Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Kern serves as the managing partner of Bridgewater Pediatrics, and is excited to lead the expansion of services in our new building.
Dr. Kern and his wife, Lisa, live in Bridgewater and have four adult children. He enjoys skiing, cycling, and photography. He serves on the Brockton Area Opioid Prevention committee, the Bridgewater-Raynham school health advisory council, and the board of directors of Keeping Pace with Multiple Miracles.
Katherine Forbes-Smith, MS, FNP-BC
Family Nurse Practitioner
Katherine is a board certified family nurse practitioner who joined our practice in 2001. She received an undergraduate degree from Gordon College and a Master of Science degree in nursing from Boston College in 2001, magna cum laude. She is a clinical instructor for nurse practitioners at Boston College and Northeastern University and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society for nurses. Katherine has a special interest in adolescent medicine with expertise in the areas of gynecology and mental health. She gives numerous presentations and lectures to youth and families on issues related to adolescent health.
Katherine and her husband, Karl, live in Bridgewater with their three daughters. They are active members of South Shore Community Church. Katherine also serves on the board of directors of Shore to Shore Mission Network and as the Founder and President of The Well, A Center for Hope and Healing. In her free time, she enjoys downhill skiing, running and spending time with her girls.
Matthew Shurtleff, MD
Board Certified Pediatrician
Dr. Matt Shurtleff joined Bridgewater Pediatrics in January of 2016. He is board certified in pediatrics. Dr. Shurtleff received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Boston University in 1998 and his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine in 2003. He completed his pediatric internship and residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City in 2006. Before joining our practice, he wore many hats in a dynamic role at Boston Medical Center - caring for children and adolescents in the pediatric clinic, working with electronic medical records as a clinical informaticist, and teaching pediatrics to medical students as a clinical preceptor.
Dr. Shurtleff and his wife, Julie, live in Mansfield with their three young children and their energetic Brittany Spaniel, Riley. In his free time, he loves to hike, play with his kids, listen to music, and explore the outdoors in New England. Dr. Shurtleff provides urgent care appointments for the patients of Bridgewater Pediatrics.
Moshe Klausner, MD
Board Certified Pediatrician
Dr. Klausner joined Bridgewater Pediatrics in August of 2018. He is a board certified pediatrician and has a passion for primary care pediatrics. Dr. Klausner completed his undergraduate studies at Yeshiva University in New York, graduating magna cum laude in 2011. He received his medical degree in 2015 at Technion American Medical School in Haifa, Israel. Dr. Klausner completed his pediatric internship and residency at Jacobi Medical Center, Lewis M. Fraad Department of Pediatrics in New York. During his pediatric internship Dr. Klausner received the Excellence in Medical School Teaching and Recognition of Outstanding Service to the Pediatric Department awards from Jacobi Medical Center.
Dr. Klausner lives in Brookline with his wife, Rachel and their two young daughters. In his free time Dr. Klausner
enjoys the outdoors, travelling and he is a passionate Boston sports fan.
Dr. Michaella Dziedzic, DO
Board Certified Pediatrician
Dr. Michaella Dziedzic joined Bridgewater Pediatrics in 2019. She grew up in Warren, RI and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health from Brown University. Before starting medical school, Dr. Dziedzic worked as a researcher in the Department of Psychiatry at Rhode Island Hospital focusing on family support for individuals with mood disorders. Dr. Dziedzic attended medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine before relocating to Hershey, Pennsylvania to complete her pediatric residency through Penn State. After completing her medical training, Dr. Dziedzic returned home to New England to follow her passion for providing pediatric primary care close to home. Dr. Dziedzic is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also trained as a Certified Lactation Counselor. Dr. Dziedzic enjoys providing care to children of all ages and maintaining a family centered approach to healthcare. In her free time, you can find Dr. Dziedzic spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors and cheering for New England sports teams.
Elizabeth Melville Klements, MS, PNP-BC, AE-C

Beth received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nursing from Boston College. She is a board certified
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Asthma Educator and an active member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP).
Beth joined Bridgewater Pediatrics in 2002. She also serves at Boston Children’s Hospital as the Asthma Clinical Nurse Specialist. Beth has served on the faculty of Simmons College and Boston College. She speaks regularly on topics of asthma and other pediatric issues at local, national, and international nursing conferences.
Beth enjoys spending her free time with her four adult children and her three wonderful grandsons.
Jaime Lincoln, MS, CPNP
Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Jaime Lincoln is a Certified Pediatric Nurser Practitioner who joined our practice in 2012. She studied Biology and Health Sciences at Stonehill College, where she graduated cum laude in 2008. She went on to earn a degree in Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions where she specialized in Pediatrics and graduated in 2011, summa cum laude . Before coming to Bridgewater Pediatrics, Jaime served as an RN at Framingham Pediatrics, as a teacher's assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital, and as a Nurse Practitioner at Dr. Bain's Pediatric Primary Care office in Lowell. Jaime's perfect day is swimming and relaxing by the pool with her husband and two daughters at their home on the North Shore.
Jamie Rhynd, MS, RN, CPNP
Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Jamie Rhynd is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who joined our practice in 2014. Jamie discovered her love of pediatrics during her time as a registered nurse at Mass Eye and Ear in Boston, MA and South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nursing from Regis College in Weston, MA where she graduated summa cum laude. Jamie is also a faculty member at Regis College where she serves as the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for Trinity Catholic Academy in Brockton, MA and teaches pediatric nursing. Jamie and her husband live in Whitman, MA with their two sons and two dogs. Jamie is an avid soccer fan who enjoys being active outdoors, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Catherine (Cathy) E. Dennehy, MSN, CPNP-PC
Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Cathy is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner who joined our practice in 2015. She received an undergraduate degree from Boston State College, received her nurse practitioner certification through the University of Virginia, and a Master of Science degree in nursing from Simmons College. She is a clinical instructor for nurse practitioners at Simmons College. Before coming to Bridgewater Pediatrics, Cathy worked at Newton Wellesley Family Pediatrics as a pediatric nurse practitioner and medical home care coordinator. She has also worked at Hanover Pediatrics and Dorchester Multi Service Center as a nurse practitioner and clinical director of pediatrics.
Cathy is a current member of the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and the Massachusetts Medical Reserve Corp. She is an active member of the Quality Improvement Committee for the PPOC at Boston Children's Hospital.
Cathy lives in Hanover with her husband, Bill. They have two grown children and one grandchild. She has been an active member of her community by serving on the School Committee and the town's Advisory Committee.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Mary Holleran MSN, RN, CPNP
Mary is a graduate of Marquette University (‘00) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science: Nursing and a graduate of Boston College (‘12) with a Master of Science in Nursing: Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and Minor: Pediatric Palliative Care. In her professional life Mary has served as Captain, U.S. Army, Staff/Charge Nurse at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for Inpatient General Pediatrics, where she provided and supervised direct patient care on a 20-bed unit general pediatric ward under 14 medical services and specialties. (‘00-’05) Mary then served at Dana Farber Cancer Institute as a Staff Nurse in Outpatient Pediatric Oncology, where she provided outpatient care of the pediatric oncology patient, including chemotherapy and blood product administration, coordination of home care, central line care, patient education. (‘05-’08) Since 2008, Mary has served at Boston Children’s Hospital as a Staff Nurse (‘08-’11) in IV/PICC Therapy and in Inpatient Pediatric Oncology. She currently practices as a Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Hematology at Boston Children’s. (‘13-’19). Mary is passionate about her work, family, friends, and music. Mary lives in Hingham with her husband, Dan, and her two boys Liam and Timothy.
Joshua Cabral, MS, LMHC
Behavioral Health Consultant
Josh is a licensed mental health counselor and trained family therapist. He received his undergraduate degree from Bridgewater State University and his MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Eastern Nazarene College. He also has additional training in primary care behavioral health with the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Josh has worked in a variety of behavioral health capacities, including therapeutic mentoring, in-home family therapy, crisis intervention, family stabilization, group therapy, private practice, and school counseling. Josh has worked with families and individuals on a number of different issues including depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, addiction, grief, and marital/family conflict.
Prior to joining Bridgewater Pediatrics, Josh worked as a licensed school adjustment counselor. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Eastern Nazarene College in the Early Childhood Education Department where he teaches various courses in psychology, such as lifespan development, human exceptionalities, educational psychology, child psychology, and psychological and educational assessment. Josh also works as a psychotherapist at The Well in Bridgewater. He is an active member of South Shore Community Church and enjoys being outdoors, reading, and spending time with his wife and three children.
Lisa Falcione, LICSW Behavioral Health Consultant
Lisa graduated from Assumption College with a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Rehabilitation Services in 1996 and a Masters in Social Work from Wheelock College in 2002. Lisa has worked extensively in residential and school settings providing individual and
group therapy for adolescents with complex social emotional needs. From 2002-2008 she worked as a clinical supervisor at the Fall River Deaconess Home and School, from 2008-2018 at the Home For Little Wanderers as a clinical coordinator. Lisa is certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Substance Use Education, CANS, CAFAS, Motivational Interviewing and Restorative Practices. Lisa has a wide range of experience organizing and facilitating therapeutic groups, supervising clinicians and skill in comprehensive clinical writing. In her free time Lisa enjoys having family fun with her husband and two daughters.
Chris Curran MA, LMHC Behavioral Health Consultant
Chris is a licensed mental health counselor and school adjustment counselor. He graduated from Bridgewater State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2008. Chris attained his Masters in Clinical Psychology from Bridgewater State University in 2011. In his time in the mental health field, Chris worked in various roles; including as a therapeutic mentor, an in home family therapist, a mental health associate and counseling roles in the outpatient and the academic setting. Chris has extensive experience at various levels in the mental health counseling field which has afforded an understanding of the different roles providers have in treatment. Chris has worked with clients in the inpatient hospital setting, the outpatient community settings and both the alternative and
general education school settings. His experience and knowledge of how these roles interact with each other has been valuable in helping his clients and patients receive the best care that they need. In his free time Chris likes golfing, fly fishing and cooking new recipes for his wife.
Christina Larson, RDN, LDN
Tina Larson joined our practice in 2011. She received her dietetics degree at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and interned at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. She provides nutrition education to patients and families, and offers grocery tours, weight loss counseling and nutrition wellness evaluations. Additionally, Tina help with IBS/FODMAP elimination diets along with nutrition wellness evaluations. Tina lives in Bridgewater and has three daughters and three grandchildren. Tina is an exercise enthusiast, enjoying cycling, yoga and fitness.
Julianne Nemes Walsh, DNP, PNP-BC

Julianne joined Bridgewater Pediatrics in January, 2017. Julianne is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner caring for children and their families for the past 30 years. Julianne received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salem State University, her Master’s in Maternal and Child Health from Boston College, and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from University of Massachusetts Lowell. Julianne’s professional interests include behavioral health, newborn feeding, and quality improvement and risk management in primary care. Julianne is the legislative chair of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and serves on the National Coalition to Improve Diagnosis.
Julianne is married to Michael and has three children; Abigail, Aidan, and Mairead. In her free time she loves to fish, enjoys gardening and spending time with her family. A perfect New England summer day for Julianne would include whale watching with her family.
Colleen Harland RN, IBLC
Colleen Harland has over twenty five years experience working with newborns and mothers. From 1991-2010, Colleen worked as post-partum nurse in the maternity ward at South Shore Hospital. During her time at South Shore Hospital, Colleen transitioned to a role as Lactation Consultant when she recognized how much she enjoyed helping mothers and babies. Since 2010, Colleen has worked as a Lactation Consultant at Brockton Hospital, working on the maternity floor, pediatrics and the special care nursery. Colleen also runs a weekly breastfeeding support group, outpatient clinic visits and responds to lactation related phone calls. Colleen, also founded and helps to lead Lactation Consultants of the South Shore. Colleen loves the work she does and considers it a privilege to work with families on their special journey with their little ones. Colleen is married with two daughters, a son and two dogs. She lives on the South Shore and enjoys spending time with family, traveling and gardening in her free time.
Lynne Ricardo, RN, BSN, IBCLC
Lynne is a 1989 graduate of St. Anslem’s College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Lynne has been certified by the Inter
national Board Certified Lactation Consultants for over twenty years and is also a member of the Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition, the Massachusetts Lactation Consultant Association, the United States Lactation Consultant Association and the International Lactation Consultant Association. Lynne is a registered nurse and has worked as a Lactation Consultant at South Shore Hospital (1998-2001) and Brockton Hospital (2007-present). Lynne, also works with Lactation Consultants of the South Shore, providing in home consultations and education to families throughout the South Shore. Lynne is passionate about providing lactation education, assistance for babies having difficulties latching, mothers who may have low milk supply or sore nipples, as well as helping mothers plan for returning to work, introducing bottles and pumping. In her free time Lynne enjoys spending time with her husband two children, boating, fishing, beachcombing and going for long walks.
